What this site collects, why, and what you can ask me to do with it. Written in plain English.

Who I am

This site is run by Christopher Thompson, operating as Christopher's Copywriting Studio (registered as Christophers Copywriting Studio), based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. If you have a question about your personal information, email cjthompson@christopherscopywritingstudio.ca.

What I collect

  • What you send me. If you use the contact form, I receive your name, email address and message. If you email me, I receive whatever your email contains.
  • What you share when you book a call. Bookings run through Calendly. When you book, Calendly collects your name, email address, your answers to the booking questions and the time you choose, and shares them with me.
  • Basic technical data. The company that hosts this site (Netlify) automatically records standard server information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.

This site doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies right now. If I add tools like the Meta Pixel or analytics later, I'll update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

How I use it

  • To reply to your message and arrange calls
  • To prepare for a call you've booked, for example by looking at your public ads
  • To deliver and invoice work you've hired me for
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations

I don't sell or rent personal information, and I don't add anyone to a mailing list without their permission.

Who I share it with

Only the service providers that make the site and my business work: Netlify (hosting and the contact form), Calendly (call booking) and Google Workspace (email). Each handles your information under its own privacy policy. Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.

How long I keep it

I keep messages and booking details for as long as I need them to respond, to work with you, and to keep proper business records. After that, I delete them.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or withdraw your consent and ask me to delete it, subject to any records I'm legally required to keep. Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights under local privacy law. Email me and I'll respond within 30 days.

Security

I use reputable providers and keep access to client information limited to me. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send passwords or payment details through the contact form or by email.

Children

This site is for business owners and isn't directed at anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll post the new version here with a new date at the top.
